Dr. Cape is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Academy of Microbiology and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He is the recipient of many awards, including the 2007 Biotechnology Heritage Award, and has held dozens of prestigious board positions in the public and private sectors. In recent years, Dr. Cape has been an investor in the field of biotechnology and a board member of various public and private companies. He has also served on the boards of Princeton University, Rockefeller University, the Whitehead Institute at MIT, and the Board of Regents of the NIH National Library of Medicine.
Robert Roberts, M.D., F.R.C.P.C., F.A.C.C.
Dr. Roberts is President and Chief Scientific Officer of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. He received his Medical Degree from Dalhousie University and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Cardiology at the University of Toronto. Past positions include Associate Professor of Medicine at Washington University and Chief of Cardiology at Baylor University.
Baldwin Toye, M.D., F.R.C.P.C.
Dr. Toye is Head of the Division of Microbiology at the Ottawa Hospital. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Toronto, and is certified in the specialties of Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, and Medical Microbiology. Dr. Toye is an expert in diagnostic microbiology and antibiotic-resistant microorganisms.
Karam Ramotar, Ph.D.
Dr. Ramotar is a Laboratory Scientist in the Division of Microbiology at the Ottawa Hospital. He is also an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Ramotar received his Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology from the University of Manitoba, and completed his Post-Doctoral training at the University of Toronto. His research focus is molecular methods in diagnostic microbiology.
