Michael previously served as President and Chairman of Unitron Industries Ltd. He is a business graduate from Wilfrid Laurier University. |

Ken is a Commerce and Economics graduate of the University of Toronto and a Chartered Accountant. He practiced public accounting with Price Waterhouse before pursuing a career in industry where he held executive positions in finance, manufacturing operations, marketing and general management at Steelcase, McCain Foods and Russel Metals. Ken is past Chair of the Toronto Angel Group and founding Chair of the Maple Leaf Angels. He is currently CEO of Contract Pharmaceuticals Limited. |

Paul brings to Spartan his diverse background in clinical medicine, molecular biology research, and biotech entrepreneurship. Prior to joining Spartan, Paul was VP Product Management at DNA Genotek, where he led commercialization of the Oragene™ DNA collection device. Prior to that, he raised venture capital and started up Plexagen Diagnostics to commercialize his invention of a universal multiplex PCR technology. Paul holds a B.Sc. in Human Biology from the University of Toronto and a Medical Degree from the University of Ottawa |
| Jamie Spiegelman, M.D. Sunnybrook Hospital |
Jamie co-founded Plexagen Diagnostics and Spartan Bioscience with Paul Lem. He has extensive lab experience, including research with Peter Oefner and Ronald W. Davis at Stanford University’s Genome Technology Center. Dr. Spiegelman holds an Honours BSc in Human Biology, with a Minor in Economics from the University of Toronto. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Toronto. He is currently a Fellow in Intensive Care Medicine at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. |
| John Lem | John is a co-founder of Spartan. He holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the Engineering Science program at the University of Toronto. John has over 5 years of investment experience and currently manages a long/short portfolio for a private investment management company. John previously worked at a Toronto-based hedge fund which was subsequently sold to a multi-billion dollar investment firm. |

Michael Abrams was called to the Ontario Bar in 2006 after articling with Kelly Santini LLP. Michael attended the University of Ottawa where he completed his degree with a concentration in Political Science and graduated Magna Cum Laude. As an associate in the Business Law Group, he represents clients on real estate transactions, estate planning and a broad range of corporate matters.
Michael possesses strong analytical and research skills and has provided litigation support and appeared on a variety of matters in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. Michael is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Ontario Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, and the County of Carleton Law Association. Michael is also an active member of the Ottawa Indians Rugby Club and enjoys coaching youth rugby. |
