Job Description – Director, Sales

Spartan Bioscience is a leading biotech / biotechnology company in Ottawa, Ontario with a point-of- care medical device platform for DNA diagnostics. Spartan is seeking a Director, Sales to lead Spartan’s sales team and help us bring the power of DNA testing to everyone.

Responsibilities:

• Developing and implementing sales strategy and monitoring effectiveness
• Setting revenue goals and key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Achieving company revenue goals through use of a direct sales team and distributors
• Expanding existing sales team to successfully ramp revenue and expand customer base
• Implementing new business initiatives to drive sales
• Providing a regular product and revenue forecast
• Maintaining key senior customer relationships (C-level)
• Implementing processes and best practices for revenue tracking, forecasting, CRM, pipeline management and other sales techniques
• Working with other departments to ensure customer and organizational needs are met
• Travel primarily within Canada/US, possible international travel

Qualifications (be very specific in your application):

• Minimum 10 years sales management experience with a proven track record for success
• Strong business sense and problem-solving ability
• Amazing leadership and communication skills
• Experience managing multi-level teams
• Experience with large contract sales and negotiations
• Experience bringing new products and technologies to market
• Experience in life sciences, building services or environmental testing is an asset
• Bachelor's degree
